Rules

Saturday is both a social ride and a race. They are ridden on (good quality) gravel roads, so either a gravel bike or a (hard tail) mountainbike would be advised.

There is a fixed course, on which only certain segments are timed. Fastest time on all the segments combined wins. You can ride on your own, with your friends, with others, … You will need a phone or gps unit to prove your times on the segment (more info to follow).

We have an arranged start (starting point at the campsite, and a second at Nyabugogo), but you can choose to ride later as well.

Sunday Ride

Because not everything needs to be a race; some things need to be a brunch.

It’s a social ride, starting from the campsite, brunching at the lake, and back to Kigali. Course tba. Good for all levels of fitness and bikes.

Other things to do

We’ll make sure the atmosphere is great. Campsite can be booked by friends and family as well. There will be drinks and food, some music, bonfire. But don’t expect a festival village, it’s all fairly low-key.

COVID-19

At present Gravel Gorilla will abide by the recent COVID guidelines 15/3/21 and as such is limited to 30% venue capacity, we will also adhere to MINISPORTS cycling guidelines and all standard mask wearing, hand washing and social distancing protocols. Rapid tests are currently not required, yet guidelines are subject to change.

Cancellation and refund T&C apply.
